Step 1 - Prepare | Step 2 - Assemble | Step 3 - Verify Step 2 - Assemble the connection Connecting 28mm fittings for compressed air applications
Like all smaller size fittings, the new 28mm fittings have a collet with stainless steel teeth and an 'O' Ring to provide the unique grip and seal connection. The fitting can also be demounted and used again without the need for replacement parts.
As with other sizes, the pipe should be properly prepared and inserted fully into the fitting (to the end of the internal tube stop). By turning the screw cap by approximately ¼ turn (2 clicks can be heard) the collet is locked in place and further compression of the 'O' Ring on the pipe is achieved. It will be noticed that by locking the collet in place there is reduced lateral and sideways movement of the pipe. Disconnecting 28mm fittings for compressed
air applications
To release the pipe from the locked position, turn the screw cap anti-clockwise approximately ¼ turn.
Now it can be released like a normal Speedfit connection by pushing in the collet and pulling the pipe out.
